Are you applying for Fall 2025 admission to a UC (University of California)?
Transfer students are required to update their application with fall 2024 grades and
provide confirmation/modification of winter/spring 2025 courses by the end of January.
Transfer applicants will receive an email message from UC in early January to complete
the TAU. All transfer applicants must submit a TAU, including students who have no fall 2024
grades or winter/spring 2025 courses/updates to report.
Failure to complete the TAU may impact admission status, so please complete the TAU
prior to the January 31 deadline.
Here's a step-by-step video that shows how you complete the process!
Berkeley applicants:
UC Berkeley transfer applicants will be required to complete an additional supplemental application using MAP@Berkeley portal. This will be available in January 2025 for you to complete the required supplemental forms.
This supplemental form is in addition to the TAU for the UC system. It is important that applicants are aware that failure to submit these forms will jeopardize the review of their application. The information on these forms vary depending on the major/college the student is applying to.
If you have any issues, you may either connect with Berkeley via the Contact Us form (for applicants) or by calling during office hours at 510-642-3175.
Last day to submit the UC Berkeley Transfer Supplemental Form is January 31st 11:59 PM (PST).
You are invited to attend one of our Application Update Sessions in January. Call 619-644-7215 to register. Registration is required.
Dates and times will be available in the Transfer Center or in Canvas.
Application Update Session Format
These sessions begin in a group format; however, your questions will be answered individually. There may be wait time so we recommend you have something to work on while you wait.
*The dates and times are subject to change.

Fall admission decisions will be released mid-March to late April 2025. Students can accept an admission offer by agreeing to the provisions/conditions outlined in the offer and submitting their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) with the SIR deposit to reserve their space at a campus.
Step 1. Submit Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by June 1.
Each campus that accepts you for admission will issue you a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) form or direct you to a website where you can declare your intent to register. Use this form or website to indicate whether you accept or decline the admission offer.
You are strongly encouraged to wait until you hear from each campus you have applied to before you declare your intent to register.
For most campuses, the SIR submission process is online. However, if you are required to mail a paper SIR form, it must be postmarked by these dates.
You may accept admission to one campus only. You may not transfer your acceptance from one campus to another after you declare your intent to register. A $250 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your SIR.
Step 2. Submit official transcripts by July 1
If you're admitted for the fall term, you must have final, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended and for all coursework attempted sent to the admissions office of your UC campus. These transcripts must be postmarked or electronically submitted on or before July 1. (If you are unable to meet this transcript deadline, please contact your UC campus directly.)
All other documents and exam scores (AP, IB) must be submitted by July 15.
You will be asked to submit official transcripts from all schools and colleges you have attended, including high school, regardless of your length of attendance or whether you believe the credit is transferable. Some campuses may request transcripts prior to admission.
Step 3. Request IGETC Certification
Certification should be requested at the Grossmont College Admissions and Records Office during your last semester of attendance at Grossmont College and after acceptance to a UC campus. It is due to the UC campus by July 15.
Certification is not automatic and must be requested by the student.
To request certification, please complete the Evaluations Department Form titled IGETC Certification Request.
Remember...
1. You can accept only one admission offer from one UC campus.
2. The SIR deposit is applied to the cost of your first enrollment term tuition.
3. If you qualified for the UC application fee waiver your SIR deposit will be deferred until financial aid is disbursed.
4. The SIR deposit is nonrefundable and non-transferable.
5. A Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) for tuition determination purposes may be required.
Understanding Residency
Transfer Student SIR Deadline is June 1!
All campuses, except Merced, typically offer transfer waitlists for select majors and will extend waitlist offers by the end of April, with an opt-in deadline of May 15. You'll be notified of your final status by July 1.
You can accept waitlist offers from multiple campuses, but you can only accept one offer of admission.
Even if you accept a waitlist offer at a UC campus, you should submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) or secure your spot at another college/university that has offered you admission by the deadline (June 1 for UC campuses) to ensure you have a place to attend in the fall.

toward your fall tuition to the campus by the posted deadline. Send official transcripts
from all colleges you have attended (including fall 2024 grades), and AP or IB test
scores by the posted deadlines. Visit the Admission & Records website for instructions on sending transcripts from Grossmont College.
2. Activate your campus student portal as soon as possible. In addition to e-mail,
the campus portal is one of the primary means campuses use to communicate important
updates and deadlines, programs, and services. Your campus account will help you access
online student updates, deadlines, and appointments.
3. Register for new transfer student orientation.
4. Attend Admitted Transfer Students presentations, take a campus tour, and any other events that are for newly admitted transfer students. These will help as you transition to a new campus.
5. Submit final official transcripts (including spring 2025 grades) by the campus deadline.
6. Attend new student orientation and register in fall classes.
7. Respond immediately to all requests for follow-up information and/or documents
from the financial aid and admissions office. Follow all deadlines and requirements
for tuition and housing payment or financial aid.
8. Complete immunization requirements. Visit the university's Student Health Center web site for further information.
Sometimes universities will offer a spot on the waitlist rather than direct admission or denial. If you are offered the waitlist and would like to continue pursuing admission at the university, opt in to the waitlist. As admission spaces become available, the university will begin to offer waitlisted students those spaces.
If you have questions, you are welcome to schedule an appointment with a Transfer Center Counselor. We are happy to help!
