Welcome to the Mathematics Department

Mathematics is a unique blend of art and science and is the universal language that has brought together cultures, nations, and people of all origins working to advance humanity.  Mathematical achievements destined to improve our lives could never exist without our diverse world of contributors across continents and across town.  Students studying math join the family of mathematicians and math learners sharing ideas and seeking solutions that will continue to further all human endeavors.

About Us

Math Department - Out of the Box Award

The Math Department recognizes that a strong mathematical education is a powerful contributor to economic justice. We recognize that mathematical potential is independent of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, political views and socio-economic background. We also recognize that systemic inequities exist, some of which act as barriers to attaining success in learning mathematics. Thus, we are committed to fostering a mathematical learning community that is welcoming, inclusive, engaging, and aimed at achieving academic success while focused on eliminating barriers as we find them. Our faculty is committed to continuous improvement in developing learning strategies and promoting diversity and inclusivity among our students, faculty and staff members.  To this end, we affirm that the mental and physical well-being of our community, especially of our students, is of utmost importance.

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

          Robert Collier
