Ms. Harpin is Chair of the Ethnic, Gender, and Social Justice Studies Department. She has been teaching at Grossmont since 2014, and at the college level since 2013. She received her B.A. in History in 2011, and her M.A. in History in 2012, both from the University of California, San Diego. Her area specialties are Diasporic Black Studies, American History, and the History of Race and Ethnicity. She has been awarded summer research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and is active with the American Historical Association and the Association of Black Women Historians. In her free time, she enjoys making historical content, traveling, cooking, sewing, spending time with her family, and playing with her dogs, Lady and Queenie. |
