Certificates of Proficiency
Certificates of Proficiency are designed for the student who needs to be prepared
for effective interaction in a diverse workplace or other settings. A department-issued
certificate may be awarded upon successful completion of a prescribed course of study.
These certificates will not appear on a student's transcript.
In addition to courses in the student's chosen language, all candidates for the AA
Degree must complete the General Education and Elective requirements of Grossmont
College.
Students should consult college catalogs and counselors and visit the campus for particular requirements necessary to transfer to a four-year institution.
This certificate accompanies the completion of Cross-Cultural Studies 115: Cross-Cultural Competence with a letter grade of "C" or higher. It prepares a student to effectively work in our 21-st century cross-cultural environments, both within organizations and in interactions with the public. It provides a framework for a life-long journey of critical reflection and improving upon best practices that move people and institutions toward practices of inclusiveness.
All courses must be completed with a letter grade of "C" or higher.
