Face-to-face (F2F) course activity occurs at Grossmont College’s campus or a designated physical site. The course meetings occur on scheduled days and times. Instructors may use a curriculum management system (Canvas) or other software to enhance the class (i.e. posting the syllabus or hosting a discussion board) outside of the on-campus meetings.

HyFlex

HyFlex

Welcome to your HyFlex course at Grossmont College! This is a newer type of course offering at Grossmont College that lets YOU cater your educational experience. What that means is that if you prefer in-person classes, you can come to class on-campus at the scheduled times to have class with your instructor and other students, just like a regular in-person class. But if you prefer online classes, you can also participate in the class live via Zoom. The HyFlex classroom is equipped with a camera, microphone and speaker so that students can attend and participate in the class from wherever they are. If you choose to "zoom" into class, you will not only be watching class, but actively participating with your instructor and the other students via the chat, asking/answering questions in whole class discussions, and participating in small-group work. And what is really great about this modality is that you can also mix and match between in-person and Zoom. If you are not feeling well, you don't have to miss class because you can still join from home. If your work schedule changes and you can't get to class on time, you can join via Zoom while you're on your way! This modality is really meant to be flexible (HyFlex = high flexibility) and allow you to be successful in the class no matter what your health, professional, or transportation situation is!
