Whether you study Russian for practical, family or cultural reasons, it will open up to you to the legacy of Russian history, literature, art, music and dance. From the land of the tsars have come some of the greatest literary and artistic talents ever known: Dostoyevesky, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Nureyev and Baryshnikov.
The Russian language is surprisingly easy to learn since it is pronounced just as it is spelled. The Cyrillic alphabet is both easy and fun to learn. Speaking Russian is a key to understanding the Russian people and also a tremendous advantage to anyone pursuing a career in Business, Journalism, Science or the Fine Arts.
Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, opportunities for Business and Cultural exchange and development have opened in many fields. San Diego's close ties with sister-city Vladivostok offer a wide variety of exchanges and study programs to Grossmont students.
