About Grossmont

 

Grossmont College is “Changing Lives Through Education” and has been a vital part of the community since classes first convened in 1961. One out of every three East County adults has taken classes at Grossmont or Cuyamaca colleges.

 

Grossmont College serves a diverse learning community of students, primarily from suburban locations in East San Diego County, and also from city of San Diego neighborhoods, surrounding communities, as well as locations across the state, the nation and more than 50 countries throughout the world.

 

The larger campus in the two-college Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, Grossmont College currently serves almost 19,000 full- and part-time students per semester. New, expanded and improved facilities include:

 

  • Griffin Center, the campus’ student center
  • Student and Administrative Services Building
  • Learning and Technology Resource Center
  • Science Laboratory Building
  • Digital Arts and Sculpture Building Complex
  • Exercise Science and Wellness Complex

Certificate and Degree Programs

With more than 150 certificate and associate’s degree programs, Grossmont College provides workforce training, career development and transferable college-level coursework. Specialized certificate programs include:

 

Location

The college sits atop a 135-acre mesa in northwest El Cajon, adjacent to the cities of Santee, La Mesa and San Diego. The campus is easily accessible from Interstate 8, State Route 125 and State Route 52. The college is a 20-minute drive east from central San Diego.
